Integral to her research is a discussion of how these musical-dramatic works traversed national boundaries and moved across the Atlantic. She has recently explored these themes in the conference paper, “The Lieutenant Nun on the Zarzuela Stage: Gender, Literature, and Music in La Monja Alférez (1875) by Carlos Coello and Miguel Marqués”.
